Then, Ellen welcomes Robert Thomas, who owned a successful nightclub for five years, but had to change plans once the pandemic hit. Even though he had no expertise in the grocery industry, Robert decided to convert his nightclub into a grocery store to serve his community and became the first Black-owned grocery store in Houston, Texas. He’ll talk to Ellen about his experience and how it has impacted his community.
